With guest speaker Nick Laughland - 6 June 2018

Wednesday 6 June, 7.30pm, Duke Street Church

The June meeting featured Nick Laughland as our Guest Speaker, he is a film and T.V. director. He started his talk with how he got into directing, the programmes he has worked on, locations for programmes, how long they take to make, edit, adding music etc. He has just finished filming another series of Midsomer Murders.

There was lots of time for Q&A from everyone. There was also a tea party celebrating the Queens Birthday, together with celebrations for her 65th Coronation anniversary. Poster photos of the Queen decorated the hall and luckily Duke Street Church had left bunting up so that made it even more cheery.

Mental health matters - 2 May 2018

Wednesday 2 May, 7.20pm, Duke Street Church Cafe, Duke Street, Richmond, TW9 1DH

This month we'll meet slightly earlier - 7.20pm for a 7.30pm start!

Mental health matters. At our May meeting we'll hear from a guest speaker who will talk to us about mental health and why it's so important.

This links to this year's WI Resolution, which has been selected by WIs to go forward and be considered at the June Annual Meeting; we'll decide how we want our delegate to vote for us at this meeting.

The 2018 resolution: Mental health matters

Mental health matters as much as physical health. The NFWI urges all WI members to recognise the importance of parity between mental health and physical health, and take action to make it as acceptable to talk about mental health issues as much as physical health issues, and to lobby government for better support for mental illness.

Admission: free for Richmond WI members, £3 for visiting WI members, £4 for guests.
